CREATING ESSENTIAL CHEMISTRY THAT THE WORLD NEEDS

Chemours is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Engineer - Maintenance Coordinator to join our growing Louisville Works team. This position will be available at the Louisville, KY and report directly to the Operations Manager.

WORK MANAGEMENT

Lead and facilitate daily and weekly maintenance planning and scheduling meetings, working closely with Operations to maximize labor efficiency and minimize equipment downtime.

WORK EXECUTION & COMMUNICATION

Convert maintenance notifications into work orders.

Review, authorize, and track work orders and backlogs, including monthly PMs (preventative maintenance) items.

Set work order priorities and develop detailed maintenance schedules.

Coordinate all aspects of maintenance preparation, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) communications and equipment decontamination.

Maintain proactive communication with Production and Maintenance teams, escalating critical or deferred tasks as needed.

VISIBLE SAFETY LEADERSHIP

Ensure all maintenance activities consistently adhere to site safety policies, regulatory requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.

PROCESS COMPLIANCE

Promote and enforce compliance with LOTO, Management of Change (MOC), Process Safety Management (PSM), and other applicable processes and standards.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Serve as the unit's integration leader for Work Management Processes (WMP), driving continuous improvement in planning, execution, and preventive maintenance strategies.

Recommend and implement reliability enhancements to drive operational excellence.

TURNAROUND EXECUTION

Serve at Turnaround coordination.

Compile and maintain the turnaround work list.

Lead and coordinate pre-turnaround meetings and communications.

Lead the Area Equipment Integrity Committee and represent the department in turnaround (TAR) planning and execution.

DATA & REPORTING

Ensure data quality and completeness in SAP for work history, execution, and reporting.

Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, incidents, and corrective actions.

PROBLEM SOLVING & RISK MANAGEMENT

Identify safety or quality risks and participate in root cause analyses; recommend and implement corrective actions.

Support hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

Demonstrate flexibility to work abnormal or extended hours and respond to urgent operational needs as required.

THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • Career oriented and ready for a step-up role in leadership and plant responsibilities.
  • Quick Learner with a proactive approach to new challenges.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning and using digital tools such as SEEQ, Power BI and proficiency with Microsoft tools.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple, time-sensitive activities.
  • Knowledge of chemical processes, maintenance procedures, equipment, and materials.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, extreme ownership and results driven.
