Project Accountant

We are an established commercial and industrial general contractor with 20+ years delivering distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, food production plants, and healthcare environments throughout the Midwest.

About the Role

We are growing and looking for a Project Accountant to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process AIA G702/G703 owner billings and monthly pay applications
• Manage subcontractor pay apps, lien waivers, and sworn statements
• Track job costs, budgets, and variances across multiple active projects
• Process subcontractor and vendor invoices and manage accounts payable
• Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
• Maintain project financial records, change orders, and contracts
• Work closely with Project Managers on cost reporting and cash flow

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction accounting experience inside a GC or subcontractor

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with AIA billing, lien waivers, and job costing
• Familiarity with construction accounting software (Sage, Computer Ease, Viewpoint, or similar)
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Stable work history and a team‑first attitude
