We are seeking a Quality Engineer for a high-precision contract manufacturing environment supporting aerospace, medical device, and other tightly regulated industries. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical engineering foundation, hands‑on manufacturing quality experience, and the ability to work closely with engineering, production, inspection, and customers.
Responsibilities- Support quality engineering activities for precision machined and complex mechanical components
- Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventative actions for internal and customer quality issues
- Review drawings, specifications, tolerances, GD&T, and customer quality requirements
- Support First Article Inspection, PPAP, AS9102, validation, and customer documentation packages
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, inspection, and production teams to resolve quality issues
- Assist with audits, nonconformance reports, supplier quality issues, and continuous improvement projects
- Analyze inspection data, process capability, defect trends, and customer feedback
- Ensure compliance with aerospace, medical device, and customer‑specific quality requirements
- Help improve quality processes, inspection methods, work instructions, and documentation controls
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field preferred
- 3+ years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing
- Experience in precision machining, contract manufacturing, aerospace, medical device, or highly regulated component manufacturing strongly preferred
- Strong ability to read mechanical drawings and interpret GD&T
- Experience with FAI, CAPA, NCRs, 8D, RCCA, process validation, and customer quality documentation
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, or related quality systems preferred
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work directly with production and engineering teams
- Experience with CMM inspection, metrology, or inspection planning is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Mechanical engineering education or equivalent hands‑on technical background
- Experience supporting aerospace and/or medical device component manufacturing
- Comfortable in a high‑mix, low‑volume precision manufacturing environment
- Strong mix of technical drawing interpretation, root cause analysis, documentation, and shop floor problem‑solving
- Experience with CMM inspection, metrology, or inspection planning
