Industrial/Continuous Improvement Engineer
We are seeking an Industrial/Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead and deliver process improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. The role focuses on increasing productivity, reducing waste, improving quality, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards through application of Lean, Kaizen, and data-driven problem solving. The successful candidate will partner with operations, quality, and engineering teams to implement sustainable best practices and measurable performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead continuous improvement programs and projects using Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma and other improvement methodologies to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality.
- Plan and facilitate Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and rapid improvement workshops to identify and implement process improvements.
- Develop, document and standardize work instructions, processes and visual controls to ensure sustained gains and consistent production practices.
- Conduct root cause analysis (5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, FMEA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Production and Supply Chain to ensure process changes meet ISO and regulatory requirements and support successful ISO audits.
- Monitor, analyze and report key performance indicators (OEE, throughput, scrap, lead time) and use data to prioritize improvement opportunities.
- Design and lead pilot projects and scale successful solutions across multiple lines or sites.
- Train and coach cross-functional teams and frontline staff on Lean tools, 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Support new product introductions and process validations to ensure manufacturability and efficiency.
- Manage improvement project schedules, budgets and documentation, and report progress to leadership.
- Ensure safety, environmental and quality considerations are integrated into all improvement activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing continuous improvement, industrial engineering or process engineering roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, SMED, value stream mapping and standard work implementation.
- Experience with ISO management systems (ISO 9001 or relevant standards) and supporting audits.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data analysis tools and methods to drive decisions (Excel, Minitab or similar).
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, facilitate workshops and train employees at all levels.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, project management and change management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, work independently and travel to plant sites as required.
