The Village of Elk Grove is pleased to announce the offering of Summer Seasonal positions with the Village’s Public Works Department. Summer Seasonal(s) primarily work to complete tasks involving manual labor. Some typical tasks of a Summer Seasonal employee are painting, janitorial, light carpentry, planting and watering flowers and shrubs, watering trees, tree planting, and setting up for special events.

• Perform manual labor tasks as assigned by Public Works staff (e.g., painting, janitorial, light carpentry, planting and watering plants, watering trees, tree planting, event setup).
• Assist with maintenance and readiness for special events.

• 2026 High School Graduate or currently enrolled in College
• Ability to work outdoors and in all weather conditions
• A valid Illinois Driver’s License and a safe driving record
• Ability to work three (3) to five (5) days, and/or twenty-four (24) to forty (40) hours per week

OPENING DATE: February 5, 2026 SUMMER WORK DATES: May – August 2026

CLOSING DATE: Open until filled COMPENSATION: $17.50 per hour

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS: Summer Seasonal employees will accrue one (1) hour of paid leave for every forty (40) hours worked.
