QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum High School Diploma. Some college desirable. At least one year of training in computer systems hardware and software or demonstrated ability to do the job. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Customer service experience and familiarity with library operations desirable.
ATTRIBUTES: Good communication skills and ability to understand and share written and oral instructions; ability to exercise initiative; must exercise tact, friendliness, and patience when working with patrons and staff; can work productively with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Interacts positively with people of all ages and temperaments.
- Assists Library patrons using the print management system.
- Assists patrons using the computer reservation system.
- Answers questions and assists patrons with basic Internet use.
- Answers questions and assists patrons with Microsoft Office software.
- Maintains and conducts basic troubleshooting of equipment and software applications.
- Assists with photocopiers, clearing paper jams, fax machine, etc.
- Assists staff and outside groups with equipment setup in the meeting rooms.
- Develops HOW TO documentation for staff and patrons.
- May research/recommend software or hardware for purchase.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
