Compensation: $50,000–$55,000/year

A global logistics and freight forwarding organization providing international transportation and import/export coordination services.

The Import Coordinator manages ocean and air import shipments from overseas origin through final U.S. destination. This role handles shipments from A to Z, including documentation, shipment tracking, carrier coordination, inland transportation, billing support, and regulatory recordkeeping.

• Receive, review, and process import documentation from overseas offices and other parties.
• Open and manage import files, including VOCC and NVOCC/house bills of lading, in-bond documents, ISF filings, arrival notices, delivery orders, freight releases, and government agency documentation.
• Track and trace FCL and LCL ocean and air shipments.
• Coordinate inland transportation and final delivery with customers, freight forwarders, trucking companies, and international carriers.
• Update AMS, ACE, and other applicable industry systems as needed.
• Process vendor invoices and payables accurately and on time to support month-end closing.
• Maintain timely, professional communication with customers, importers, carriers, overseas offices, forwarders, and vendors.
• Maintain complete and accurate import records in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Provide high-quality customer service and proactively address shipment issues.
• Cross-train and support other departments and team members as needed.
• Support established quality management procedures, including ISO 9001 requirements.

Required:

• 2+ years of experience processing international import shipments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Strong organizational, critical-thinking, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong customer service orientation.

Preferred:

• Experience with ocean and/or air freight forwarding operations.
• Familiarity with AMS, ACE, ISF, FCL/LCL shipments, and import documentation.

This role requires effective coordination across multiple internal and external parties while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and shipment timelines.
