Logistics Technician potential

Site Logistics Tech – Elk Grove Village, IL (Pay $21.27 - $25.27/hour, 4% bonus potential)

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Performing cycle counts of inventory and supplies
• Assisting with maintaining inventory accuracy, investigating and correcting variances

• Loading and unloading trailers of material
• Inspecting incoming and outgoing shipments
• Preparing and verifying shipping documentation and labeling
• Organizing materials into the right locations in the warehouse
• Preparing and staging materials
• Ordering supplies and scheduling pickups
• Performing shipping and receiving transactions in SAP
• Answering emails and phone calls
• Performing regular housekeeping tasks
• Understanding and following procedures and assist in procedure reviews and revisions
• Performing other tasks as assigned by supervision which may include downtime projects, painting, and other activities

• Must wear FR uniforms and PPE as required

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent

• Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
• Willingness to occasionally work OT
• Basic math skills
• Experience with forklift operation
• Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position including standing for long periods of time, bending, and moving heavy objects
• Ability to lift 55 pounds
• Must be able to tolerate periodic hot inside working conditions or cold outside conditions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to respond to emails in a timely manner
• Must be able to recognize hazards and prioritize safety
• Must have good time management and housekeeping habits
• Tendency to take initiative and keep busy

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit
:

• Previous experience using SAP
• Previous experience in a logistics or warehouse role
• Ability to escalate issues, provide ideas for fixing the problem and be part of the solution
• Positive "can do" attitude
• Troubleshooting skills
