The Krispy Kreme Production Shift Supervisor is a person of high integrity in a working supervisor role and is responsible for ensuring all hourly employees have the knowledge and ability to follow company policies and procedures. The supervisor leads their team in a way that focuses on safety, cost, quality and service expectations, while achieving production goals in a highly efficient manner.

As a working supervisor, they will frequently be hands-on supporting the team as needed. The supervisor should be capable of performing all routine tasks assigned to their team. The Production Supervisor leads, guides, and directs the activities of employees engaged in the production, receiving, and warehouse work areas, executing daily production documentation in line with the production goals, critical check points, metal detectors, lot number tracking for all ingredients and sanitation with operators, packers, receivers, and loadout employees.

The supervisor also ensures the safety of workers in the organization by reinforcing standard safety policies for the department and frequently evaluating tasks from a safety standpoint, guiding team members to safe work habits.

Responsibilities
  • Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation production supervisors must lead by example at all times, with unwavering compliance to all Food Safety procedures, OSHA safety best practices, GMP requirements and all company policies.
  • The supervisor trains, develops, and schedules new employees (specific to each plant).
  • Oversees all areas of the plant and ensures equipment is in optimal condition.
  • Maintains production records in tablet (digital) or paper form.
  • Ensures quality control guidelines are followed.
  • Evaluates the performance of workers and provides support and feedback to the Production Manager or General Manager. Executes the production schedule and work schedule, assigns employees to appropriate positions to optimize productivity, cost control (labor and material efficiencies), and other factors impacting profitability.
  • Communicates and follows up on employees’ daily attendance and overall performance to the Production or General Manager. Recommends and administers disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Applies critical thinking to implement continuous improvement activities such as quality improvements, waste reduction, preventive line maintenance, and reducing unplanned downtime and equipment failures.
  • Monitors productivity metrics such as Line Efficiency and OEE (using the DMA-Doughnut Manufacturing App) and assists with budget/resource allocation.
  • Prepares production reports for upper management and reports issues impacting safety, productivity, costs, quality, or food safety/sanitation goals as necessary.
  • Treats all employees with dignity and respect, and strives to be fair and inclusive.
  • Willingness to participate in skills training as requested by management.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a leadership role required.
  • Familiarity with food processing or food packaging processes.
  • Knowledge of food safety/GMPs or advanced sanitation preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.
