Position Overview
Firma Clinical Research is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Biostatistics to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This role serves as a first-line people manager and scientific leader, with accountability for statistical quality, project delivery, and team development across multiple clinical studies.
The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of technical biostatistics expertise, leadership capability, and exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of statisticians, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to study timelines
- Assign and oversee statistical resources across multiple clinical projects
- Provide scientific and strategic input to clinical development programs
- Prepare, review, and approve clinical study protocols, Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs), table shells, and related documentation
- Collaborate closely with Programming, Data Management, Clinical Operations, and other cross-functional teams
- Review and contribute to clinical study reports, regulatory submissions, and study result presentations
- Mentor, coach, and develop junior statisticians, fostering professional growth and technical excellence
- Apply regulatory guidance and advanced statistical methodologies to support drug development
- Identify and implement innovative statistical approaches that add value to client programs
- Master's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 7 years of clinical trials experience with a Master's degree, or 5 years with a PhD
- Strong working knowledge of SAS and/or R; experience with additional statistical software is a plus
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing projects and/or teams
- Solid understanding of statistical models used in pharmaceutical development and healthcare research
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Proven ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment
