Position Summary
Assists receiving department, performing clerical duties involved in the receiving of materials.
Position Responsibilities- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Routes items to departments.
- Keeps records on incoming shipments and returns.
- May operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
- May direct others in receiving incoming shipments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications.
- Detail-oriented in record keeping and time elements of the position.
- Leadership skills to direct employees.
HS diploma or equivalent.
ExperienceNo experience required, but 1+ years of warehouse experience; clerical experience preferred.
Work Environment andPhysical Requirements
Manufacturing Environment. Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly. Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time. Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer.
