Job Description

Nevada Gold Mines is looking for an Open Pit Tire Technician to join our Maintenance Team at Carlin.

This role involves maintaining all mine equipment tires, ensuring safe operation and compliance.

• Maintain all tires on mine equipment, including passenger light vehicles and all off road vehicles.
• Maintain correct air pressures and tread depths.
• Inspect and remove worn or failed tires and install replacement tires.
• Repair all repairable tires.
• Complete routine maintenance activities to ensure the availability and safe functioning of large mining, support equipment fleets.
• Maintain shop areas, tools, and service vehicles to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform daily pre-shift work inspections and participate in individual and group hazard identification processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Two (2) plus years of experience in maintenance of mobile, farm, trucking, aircraft, military or support equipment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics required.
• Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision required.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people required.
• Experience handling tires preferred.
• Ability to accomplish strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions required.
• Lift at least 50 lbs. required.
• Proven safe work record with belief and value seen in courageous leadership model required.
• Ability to be an initial team member in a growing, fast paced environment, and support team in attainment of safety, environmental, equipment protection and production goals with a proven safety record required.
• Housekeeping standards are maintained to a high level required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
