Job Description

Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) is looking for a Pre-PM Maintenance Inspector at our Cortez Open Pit operations. The successful candidate will conduct detailed inspections of drilling, loading, and hauling equipment in our open pit, rotating across maintenance functions and interfacing with predictive maintenance, maintenance engineering, planning, and general supervision. Your work will inform maintenance activities, driving and maintaining equipment reliability to support production.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Open Pit Pre-PM Lead or Supervisor, the Inspector is responsible for recording maintenance activities using SAP.
  • Executing planned inspections to identify defects for planned maintenance work.
  • Identifying maintenance work and creating work orders.
  • Verifying equipment condition before generating work orders.
  • Generating subsequent notifications for additional work identified that is not in the work order.
  • Providing feedback on work executed and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Performing maintenance tasks compliant with recommended hydrocarbon management practices.
  • Measuring cleanliness of hydrocarbons to ensure compliance with hydrocarbon standards and detecting substandard conditions promptly.
  • Applying processes, procedures, and standards to support best practice in the management of hydrocarbon air and coolant.
  • Complying with site environmental standards to avoid contaminating land and waterways.
  • Performing maintenance according to procedures identified/changed through defect elimination process.
  • Implementing corrective action plans.
  • Reviewing daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs.
Qualifications
  • Eight (8) plus years of experience in maintenance of heavy equipment, drill, shovel, military or support equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to accomplish strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions.
  • Must lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Proven safe work record with a belief and value in the courageous leadership model.
  • Initial team membership in a growing, fast‑paced environment, supporting the team in attaining safety, environmental, equipment protection and production goals with a proven safety record.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
