Campus Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Overview

Sandvik Mining, a global market leader in mining and rock excavation, has an opening for a Campus Facilities Maintenance Specialist at our Elko campus. The primary function of this role is to oversee the maintenance and operational functions of campus facilities.

• HVAC Systems Maintenance:
  Perform the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
• Parking Lot Maintenance and Snow Removal:
  Manage the upkeep of parking lots, including resurfacing and line painting, and perform snow removal operations to ensure safe and accessible parking and access road areas.
• Landscaping Management:
  Maintain attractive and functional outdoor spaces.
• Building Compliance:
  Ensure all facilities comply with local, state, and federal regulations and codes. Conduct regular inspections and coordinate necessary repairs and upgrades.
• Front Desk Admissions Assistance:
  Assist with front desk operations, including visitor admissions and handling inquiries.
• Wash Bays and Paint Booths Maintenance:
  Support the maintenance and cleanliness of wash bays and paint booths to ensure a safe working environment.
• Janitorial Services Management:
  Oversee and assist with janitorial services to maintain a clean and hygienic campus environment.
• Continuous Safety Support:
  Promote and enforce a culture of safety throughout the campus.
• IT Support Assistance:
  Provide basic IT support, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Video Surveillance Maintenance:
  Maintain and monitor video surveillance systems to ensure campus security.
• Access Controls Assistance:
  Help manage access controls, including issuing and deactivating access cards and keys.
• Ancillary Services Management:
  Oversee the maintenance of ancillary services such as vending machines and water dispensers.
• Vehicle and Equipment Coordination:
  Ensure pool vehicles are maintained and support equipment mobilization and storage.
• Weed Abatement:
  Make certain perimeter fences are free from weed and in good working order.
• Environmental Compliance:
  Assist with disposal of hydrocarbons, maintain stormwater systems, ensure air permitting requirements are met, and oil separators cleaned and maintained.

• Adherence to the Sandvik Environmental, Health & Safety Policy.
• Attending health and safety related trainings.
• Performing Risk Assessments ("Take Five") prior to each task.
• Identification and reporting of hazards.
• Working in a safe manner as reasonably practicable.

Proven experience in facility or property management or a related field. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building maintenance, and compliance standards.

Basic Course(s) related to Facility Management.

• Light Vehicle Driver License
• Forklift License (preferred)

• Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic IT troubleshooting knowledge.
