El Nino - Underground Mobile Maintenance Technician

Position Overview

The Mobile Maintenance Mechanic will work with the El Nino Underground Maintenance department at Nevada Gold Mines. Reporting to the Underground Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the role involves mechanical and hydraulic system troubleshooting, blueprint reading, computer proficiency, safety, and teamwork.

• Shop Equipment, Tools, & Skills – Must be able to read, comprehend, interpret blueprints & instruction manuals.
• Hydraulic Systems – Must be able to troubleshoot and repair basic hydraulic systems, identify & explain component functions on a hydraulic schematic.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Five (5) years of light/heavy mechanical experience preferred.
• Three (3) years of mining (surface or underground) experience preferred.
• Some mechanical aptitude required.
• Strong work ethic and good attendance are required.
• Ability to use a computer for parts and work order tracking as well as send/receive emails required.
• Commitment to working safely and to standards required.
• Strong computer skills preferred. (SAP, Cat ET, Cat SIS, Cummins Insite, Serdia)
• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, team oriented and work with minimum supervision required.
