The Plant Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all activities of the Maintenance Department within a state‑of‑the‑art, highly automated recycling facility. This role ensures plant equipment and facility systems are maintained in accordance with sound engineering practices to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The Plant Maintenance Manager drives maintenance strategies, oversees preventative and corrective maintenance programs, and leads a team to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
The facility is one of the most technologically advanced recycling operations in North America, featuring 90% automated processes, cutting‑edge optical sorting technology, and fully integrated systems that enable plant‑wide management through tablet‑based controls within a modern, state‑of‑the‑art environment.
What You’ll Be Doing- Manage the preventive maintenance program and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Develop, maintain, and administer an organization qualified to maintain all equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient working condition. Execute an effective preventive maintenance program to minimize unscheduled downtime.
- Maintain all operating equipment in satisfactory condition and schedule needed repair to have minimum interference.
- Consult with other departments regarding desirable modifications of existing equipment and facilities and the possible replacement of existing equipment to improve operations and reduce maintenance costs.
- Coordinate the efficient operation of facilities with project engineers.
- Coordinate and oversee the efficient maintenance of all plant transportation equipment.
- Analyze cost studies of proposals for new facilities and equipment in the department designed to secure reduced operating costs. Make recommendations to the Plant Manager.
- Develop objectives and standards of performance for projects within the Maintenance Department to meet departmental, divisional, and corporate goals and objectives.
- Plan and provide for an adequate supply and ensure control over spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) or equivalent.
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience.
- 7 years of relevant work experience in engineering and maintenance of equipment and facilities (in addition to education requirements).

The expected base pay range for this office/on‑site position is $80,877 - $90,392. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
