Location: Elm Middle School, 7607 W. Cortland

Summary: To facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district-approved curriculum.

• Endorsement in Mathematics

• Develop and administer elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
• Promote a safe, conducive classroom environment for individualized and small group instruction.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials, translating them into effective learning experiences.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs, including students with special needs.
• Instruct students in responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws and school regulations.
• Continuously acquire professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, professional meetings, or research.
• Organize and maintain accurate record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and attendance per district procedures and applicable laws.
• Encourage parental involvement and maintain effective communication with students and parents.
• Ensure student conduct conforms to school and district policies, establishing standards of pupil behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
• Coordinate with other elementary staff, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
• Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids, supplies, and equipment, and maintain inventory records.
• Supervise students during out-of-classroom activities during the school day, including transportation activities.
• Administer standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machine, and telephone.

Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Works in standard office and school building environments.
