(FMLA) Math Teacher (Middle School)
Terms of Employment: August 17 – November 6 2026
Location: Elm Middle School, 7607 W. Cortland
Summary: To facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district-approved curriculum.
Qualifications- Professional Educator License
- Endorsement in Mathematics
- Develop and administer elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Promote a safe, conducive classroom environment for individualized and small group instruction.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials, translating them into effective learning experiences.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs, including students with special needs.
- Instruct students in responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws and school regulations.
- Continuously acquire professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, professional meetings, or research.
- Organize and maintain accurate record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and attendance per district procedures and applicable laws.
- Encourage parental involvement and maintain effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensure student conduct conforms to school and district policies, establishing standards of pupil behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
- Coordinate with other elementary staff, especially within grade level, to evaluate and assess curriculum and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
- Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids, supplies, and equipment, and maintain inventory records.
- Supervise students during out-of-classroom activities during the school day, including transportation activities.
- Administer standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machine, and telephone.
Travel RequirementsTravel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
