ICU Nurse, Pediatric Nurse
Shriners Children’s Chicago offers a full‑time day shift Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse position in its PICU/PACU combined unit. In this role you will provide emergency intensive care to critically ill pediatric patients and be cross‑trained for PACU. You will guide patients from arrival through discharge and support them and their families throughout the healing journey.
Hours3/12 shift schedule, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm. Weekends and holidays require on‑call coverage.
CompensationPay range: $38.13 – $57.20 per hour, based on experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities- Assess comprehensive data including physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs to derive diagnoses.
- Involve patients, families, and the healthcare team in formulating culturally appropriate care plans and identifying expected outcomes.
- Implement care plans in partnership with patients, families, and team members.
- Utilize teaching strategies tailored to the individual patient’s condition and learning needs.
- Evaluate patient and family understanding and response to the care plan.

Required Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or in progress
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Minimum two years of acute care hospital experience
- Previous ICU, PACU, or NICU experience
- Pediatric experience in an orthopedic and/or plastics environment
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
