ELEMENTARY CUSTODIAL COORDINATORREPORTS TO:
Supervisor of Operations
To oversee custodial operations and building custodial staff, to ensure an attractive, sanitary and safe facility for students, staff, and public at district facilities; providing equipment and furniture arrangements for meetings, classroom activities, and events; and minimizing property damage, loss, and liability exposure.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Hold a Black Seal Fireman's License or shall meet requirements to obtain this license within one year of the date of employment.
- Preferred to have a minimum of two (2) years of experience.
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a valid N.J. Driver's License.
- Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character.
- Demonstrate the ability to work well with others and with a wide diversity of individuals.
- Demonstrate the ability to read, write, speak, understand, and/or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
- Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for work processing, data management, information retrieval, visual presentations, and telecommunications.
- Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form I-9 in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
- Provide evidence of clearance of a criminal record history check by the Department of Education.
- Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4.
- Pass the state-required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4.
- Meet such alternatives to the above qualifications, as the Superintendent may deem appropriate, acceptable, and legal.
- District application and resume.
- Required documentation outlined in the qualifications above.
- Employment interview.
- High school transcripts and official college transcripts if applicable
- Recommend, for purchase, supplies, materials, and equipment needed for the custodial program and maintain an adequate inventory.
- Coordinate coverage of building events for school custodial staff.
- Monitor the records of all custodial employees in the school.
- Maintain an inventory and recommend purchase of suitable supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Strive constantly to promote the safety, health, and comfort of the students and employees.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Display the highest ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school.
- Serve as a role model for staff in demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire and grooming, and an effective work ethic.
- Participate in appropriate in-service and workshop programs and attend any required meetings.
- Protect confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties, and use discretion when sharing any such information within legal confines.
- Adhere to federal statutes and regulations, New Jersey school law, construction codes, State Board of Education rules and regulations, Board of Education policies and procedures, and contractual obligations.
- Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by the Supervisor of Operations and not otherwise prohibited by law or regulation.
- Display the highest ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school.
- Keep track of supplies and inventory and distribute as needed.
