Position SummaryThis position works under the direction of the Assistant Director of Building Trades and the Lead Painter and performs the routine preventive maintenance of all university-maintained indoor and outdoor protected coated surfaces.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent.
PreferredEducation and Experience
Three to five years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Basic understanding of coatings and their applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver License and be insurable by the college carrier.
Job Duties- Applying interior and exterior paints, stains, sealants, and specialty coatings using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
- Cleaning, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming surfaces including drywall, plaster, wood and metal.
- Performing trim work, blending, color matching, and detailed finishing to meet campus standards.
- Completing minor drywall, plaster and wood repairs prior to painting.
- Cleaning, maintaining and properly storing tools, equipment and materials; ensuring safe handling and inventory of supplies.
- Following OSHA, EPA and university safety protocols, including PPE use, chemical handling, ventilation practices, and safe equipment operation.
