Job Overview

Opportunity as a (Technical) Maintenance Supervisor at the Hostess Manufacturing Plant, 1525 Industrial Rd, Emporia, KS 66801. 100% on-site, 2nd Shift (3 pm-11 pm). The role requires flexibility to work off shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Supervise and train maintenance personnel in the upkeep of existing equipment and the installation of new equipment.
• Plan and direct engineering and maintenance activities for a work shift.
• Focus on meeting standards for quality, productivity, downtime, and defects.
• Provide problem solving expertise and root cause analysis to Operations.
• Execute predictive and preventative PM programs.
• Direct and deploy technical resources to repair or maintain equipment.
• Build mastery level skills in advanced technicians and advanced technical skills in equipment owners, and basic technical and troubleshooting skills in all technicians.
• Ensure technical documentation, PMs, and spares for department equipment and systems are identified and in place.
• Create necessary PMs and SOPs to properly maintain equipment and enable resources to execute work.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to technical resources within a department.
• Collaborate with Area Leaders, Process Engineers, and Coordinators in the development of work plans that maximize sanitation and startup effectiveness and efficiency.
• Administer timekeeping, attendance tracking, and payroll approval processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of relevant experience supervising technical/maintenance individuals.
• Demonstrated experience teaching and leading others.
• 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong technical and mechanical ability, including problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred).
• Prior experience in food manufacturing (preferred).
• Project management experience (preferred).

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment and manufacturing sites can be loud.

• Regularly required to talk and hear.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds frequently. May push and pull heavy objects.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
