Job Duties
The Engineering Manager will assist the Director of Engineering in the day-to-day operations of the engineering department. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the general and preventative maintenance and repairs of guest rooms, meeting spaces, public areas, back‑of‑house areas, and equipment. The role requires continuous working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire, HVAC refrigeration, paint, and safety within a hotel environment to assist department engineers in performing their jobs safely and efficiently.

The salary range for this position is $68,700‑86,000. This is the pay range that Alila Marea reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.

- 2‑4 years of previous hotel experience as a maintenance department supervisor or progressive maintenance responsibility.
- Previous supervisory experience overseeing employees preferred.
- Working knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, screening, locks, HVAC, boiler operations, and proper tool and chemical use.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Licensed in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) preferred.
- Frequent:
Walking, standing, moving throughout property; kneeling, squatting, bending constantly; pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs; frequent use of hand, wrist, and other manual dexterity throughout shift; use of power tools, sharp objects, and some audibly loud noise from machinery. - Occasional:
Exerting force up to 100 lbs occasionally; exposure to paint and chemicals; climbing stairs and ladders; accessing roof and comfortable at heights up to three stories; interacting with guests (speaking, listening, writing); long hours sometimes required.
