Porter, Maintenance​/Cleaning

Description Summary

An exceptional focus on maintaining a clean and inviting shopping environment. The porter maintains the cleanliness, safety and professional appearance of the store during active business hours.

• Maintaining the stores floors by sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing and sealing.
• Cleaning and maintaining the entrance of the store, eating areas, backrooms, janitorial and sink area to include supply rooms.
• Frequently clean, sanitize and restock restrooms with paper products and soap.
• Ensures cleanliness of loading dock and courtyard areas.
• Quickly address spills, leaks, or safety hazards.
• Emptying and disposing of trash collected in various trash receptacles throughout store.
• Perform light repairs such as changing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, or unclogging sinks.

• Customer Service – With both customers and employees remain helpful, tactful and courteous always; responds promptly to customer needs; and responds to requests for service and assistance.
• Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures;
  Reports potentially unsafe conditions;
  Uses equipment and materials properly.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be available nights, weekends, and holidays.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
