PRN; Housekeeping​/Laundry

Responsibilities

• 1. Assure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
• 2. Coordinated daily housekeeping duties with nursing services when performing routine cleaning in resident living areas.
• 3. Assure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
• 4. Assure that established infection control and universal practices are maintained when performing housekeeping duties.
• 5. Keep work areas free of hazardous objects.
• 6. Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
• 7. Keep supervisor informed of supple needs.
• 8. Clean work/supply carts, equipment, etc. as necessary or directed.
• 9. Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
• 10. Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily assignments.
• 11. Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc. in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc. daily as instructed.
• 12. Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures.
• 13. Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, striping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc.
• 14. Clean carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting, etc.
• 15. Clean walls and ceiling by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
• 16. remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
• 18. Discard waste trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liners.
• 19. Clean vacant rooms as assigned.
• 20. Discard infectious wastes into appropriate containers.
• 21. Maintain the confidentiality of resident information.
• 22. Honor the residents' personal and property rights.
• 23. Turn in all found articles to the charge nurse.
