Rotating Equipment Technician

To perform maintenance on rotating equipment and gather vibration data on rotating equipment throughout the system in a safe and effective manner.

• Provide maintenance on a variety of rotating equipment including PD plunger pumps, overhung centrifugal booster pumps, vertical process pumps, and multi-stage centrifugal mainline pumps.
• Provide preventive maintenance on the above equipment on a scheduled basis.
• Set up and commission new pump packages, including laser alignment of equipment and baseline vibration readings.
• Assist in determining root cause failure analysis on rotating equipment.
• Take scheduled vibration analyses on equipment and forward data to the Sr. Manager of Rotating Equipment.
• Manage the assigned service truck, including Auto Crane, compressor, hand tools, and vibration/laser alignment equipment.
• Provide maintenance support across Sunoco assets; travel in a service truck is approximately 90% and may include overtime and occasional weekends/holidays. DOT driving rules, including electronic logging, apply.
• Attend and complete all safety training; work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. Safety is a priority for this role.
• May perform other related duties as needed.

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Mechanical, Technical, or Vocational education is beneficial
• No experience required. Basic understanding of mechanical makeup of engines and pumps preferred. Machinist experience and equipment vibration knowledge preferred
