Description
The Inside Facilities Maintenance Worker is responsible for cleaning, room/event set ups, supporting ministry special requests and closing the campus safely.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Responsibilities:
- Ensures that cleaning, maintenance, and room setup/teardown work is done thoroughly and on time, as assigned.
- Is responsible for assistance to church staff for general maintenance tasks, as needed, and help with other maintenance duties, as requested.
- May be requested to help for special events.
- May be ‘on call’ for church alarms and after hour emergencies.
- Works in a safe manner, recognizes unsafe situations and takes appropriate action to ensure the safety of themselves and others
- Able to safely operate equipment.
- Interacts professional with all staff personnel, EFCC committees/councils, the congregation, volunteers, representatives from other churches and outside organizations
- Must be willing to further develop skills and expertise in areas of responsibility through personal study, regular participation in our worship services and participation in appropriate conferences and seminar

Director of Inside Maintenance
20-29 hours/week, plus or including:
Weekend and night hours.
A work schedule and receives time off and other benefits as outlined in the Emmanuel Faith Community Employee Handbook, Version Date: 1/2026
Varying hours according to event needs and emergencies.
RequirementsCommitment to EFCC’s Statement of Faith, Mission, & Values.
Has a high school diploma or equivalent experience
Is physically capable of doing the job
Is flexible, can handle interruptions, and has an attitude of helpfulness
Is self-motivated and can complete tasks with minimal supervision
Is able to arrive to work on time, whether for a regular workday or as requested for events requiring assistance
Strength and stamina- Lifting:
Must be able to lift and carry objects frequently, often weighing up to 50 pounds and sometimes over 100 pounds, with or without assistance. - Physical labor:
Must have the stamina for prolonged and strenuous physical work, including pushing, pulling, and moving materials.
- Movement:
Required to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, and climb. - Work at heights:
Must be able to work at heights and maintain balance, sometimes on uneven or narrow surfaces. - Confined spaces:
Must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Vision:
Must have vision adequate to perform duties like reading printed materials, using a computer, and operating equipment. This includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, along with the ability to adjust focus and interpret color differences. - Hearing:
Must have corrected hearing to communicate in person, over the phone, and on a radio. - Touch:
Required to have the ability to feel objects and operate tools and equipment by touch. - Verbal communication:
Must be able to verbally exchange ideas and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
- Environmental exposure:
Must be able to work in various weather conditions and may be exposed to noise, fumes, dirt, gas, dust, chemicals, and oils. - Tools and equipment:
Must be able to use a variety of hand and power tools, vehicles, and other equipment. - Working hours:
May be required to work overtime, irregular hours, or shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to handle emergencies.
