Position Title: Facilities & Shop Support Technician Date: July 2026
Department: Operations Reports to: Operations Supervisor
Job Summary:
Provide facility, janitorial, and general shop support for QCMI by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Services Scope & Skills:
- Understands internal processes and basic equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper application, handling, and disposal.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
- High energy with a strong work ethic.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Flexible and willing to perform a variety of duties as assigned.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Handy with basic hand and power tools.
- Preferred forklift experience or ability to become forklift certified.
- Preferred landscaping or grounds maintenance experience.
- Ability to safely lift up to 45 pounds and push, pull, carry, and move materials throughout the facility with or without reasonable accommodation.
- May occasionally be required to work overtime or more than eight (8) hours per day.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Perform general janitorial duties throughout the facility, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, production areas, and common spaces.
- Clean machined parts as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Perform general facility upkeep and minor maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Assist with landscaping and exterior facility maintenance.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other authorized material handling equipment when trained and certified.
- Safely operate and maintain all company equipment for which authorization has been provided.
- Comply with all company safety policies, quality procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Work in partnership with the Operations Supervisor, Quality Department, and Engineering Department to ensure quality standards are met and maintained. If a quality concern is identified, immediately stop work and notify your supervisor and the Quality Department.
- Assist with organizing materials, moving inventory, and supporting production departments as needed.
- Provide training and assistance to coworkers when requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
