Position: FT Food & Beverage Supervisor-GCT
Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, F & B, the Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Bartenders, Servers, Porters, Hosts and Hostesses. The Food and Beverage Supervisor maintains efficient running of the department by complying with the duties and responsibilities as outlined below in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, rules, regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Excellent internal and external customer service skills are required to be displayed at all timesEnsure safe and responsible service relative to all aspects of the sale and service of all food and beverage productsEnsure employees report to work adhering to company policies and proceduresSupervisor employees in a positive manner, reflecting positive leadership qualitiesAssign tasks and duties accordingly to appropriate employeesConduct performance evaluation and coaching to employees as requiredMaintain payroll systems including authorizing shifts, calculating bi-weekly time sheets, monitoring attendance and attendance management program for employeesStrong understanding of the cash system policies and procedures and ensure complianceComplete daily reports and documents as requiredHandle customer concerns and complaints promptly and respectfullyProvide training to new and existing employees and development opportunities to staffOther duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage ManagerEnsure compliance with company’s health and safety policies and adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety ActMaintain a safe environment for all employees and report any health and safety contraventions to the Food and Beverage Manager immediately.Education and Qualification Requirements:
Post-Secondary Food Service and Hospitality Education diploma preferredMinimum 3 years practical front of the house Food and Beverage experience working in a high-volume multi-unit establishment or CasinoProven knowledge of food & wineMinimum 1year previous Supervisory/Managerial experienceMust have recognized Provincial training in Smart Serve and Responsible Alcohol ManagementHotel, Restaurant or Food Service and Hospitality education or specific training inSmart Serve CertifiedWHMIS CertifiedFood Safety TrainingCustomer Service oriented background, excellent people skills, and diversityFully knowledgeable and maintain complete knowledge and comply with AGCO, OLG, LLBO, and GBH policies and procedures, rules and regulations and Collective AgreementComputer experience required in Excel, MSWord and . SystemAbility to work independently under pressure in a fast-paced work environmentAbility to prioritize and possess excellent time management and organizational skillsAble to maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees and management as part of a teamEffective leadership, oral and written communication skillsCompetence and professionalismAbility to follow and comply with company and departmental policies and proceduresExcellent customer service skills to maintain good rapport with customers and employeesAbility to perform tasks and duties effectively and safely within prescribed time limitsThe ability to successfully pass a criminal record and credit check through the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO)Work Environment Considerations
