4 days ago Requisition
Lead the shop at a 197-unit community. GLR Companies is hiring a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to own maintenance operations at Lakeland Commons, an apartment community in Euclid, Ohio.
About GLR CompaniesGLR Companies, Inc. is a full-service, third-party property management firm headquartered in Northeast Ohio. We manage multifamily communities, commercial properties, and community associations, and we hold every asset to a hands-on operational standard. We are active operators, not absentee managers. Our leadership walks properties, knows the work, and holds itself to the same standards we ask of our teams. We are growing, and we are building the team that grows with us.
Aboutthe Role
You will run the maintenance operation for Lakeland Commons, a 197-unit apartment community. The work order board, the make-ready pipeline, the preventive maintenance calendar, the shop, and the team all run through you. We hold our properties to a resident-ready, inspection-ready standard every day, and the Maintenance Supervisor is the person who makes that real. This is a hands-on, tools-on leadership role.
You will turn wrenches alongside your team while setting the pace and the standard for how the work gets done.
- Work Order Management: Triage, assign, complete, and close work orders in Rent Manager with accurate documentation; own response-time and quality standards
- Unit Turns: Run the make-ready program to consistent turn-time and quality standards so units are rent-ready when leasing needs them
- Preventive Maintenance: Build and execute the preventive maintenance schedule covering HVAC, life-safety equipment, building systems, and seasonal work
- Inspection Readiness: Keep the community prepared for municipal and rental-registration inspections, insurance and lender inspections, and GLR's internal property-condition standards; correct deficiencies quickly and document everything
- Team Leadership: Supervise, schedule, and develop the on-site maintenance technicians and porters/groundskeepers; conduct property walks and safety check-ins
- Vendor Oversight: Coordinate and quality-check vendor and contractor work on site; verify scope is met before sign-off
- On-Call Program: Administer the site on-call rotation and participate in after-hours emergency response per company policy
- Shop & Safety: Maintain shop organization, parts and supplies inventory, key control, and safety/OSHA standards
- Hands-On Work: Perform skilled repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, drywall, carpentry, and flooring
- 5+ years of maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in multifamily/apartment maintenance; prior lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated skill across the core trades and sound judgment on when to self-perform versus recommending to call a licensed contractor
- Ability to organize a team, a schedule, and a shop, and hold a standard
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to participate in on-call rotation
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; climb ladders and stairs; stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods; and work indoors and outdoors in all Northeast Ohio weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations will be made in accordance with applicable law.

- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid time off (PTO) with per-pay-period accrual
- Eleven (11) paid holidays plus one (1) floating holiday
