Environmental Services Worker, Housekeeping; Eufaula - PT

Job Summary

Part Time Variable. The Environmental Services Worker cleans patient rooms and general spaces throughout the health system facilities following safe work practices and infection control procedures.

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• None licensure, registration, or certification required.
• None work experience required.

• Ability to prioritize work efficiently.
• Read and write and understand oral instructions and safety signage.
• Meet physical requirements and working conditions of the job.
• Customer service oriented.
• Use phone/paging system for cleaning assignments.

• Perform cleaning and sanitizing activities in designated areas including patient rooms, bathrooms, and common spaces.
• Maintain flooring care: cleaning, buffing, applying floor sealer and finish; vacuum, shampoo, extract carpets.
• Use and maintain power equipment and hand tools such as buffers, auto brooms, mops, and squeegees for floor, wall, carpet, and furniture cleaning.
• Provide waste collection and removal including biomedical waste, recycling, and cleaning trash chutes and receptacles.
• Mix and dispense cleaning solutions from dispensing systems, following appropriate cleaning methods for different surfaces.
• Restock cleaning supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap.
• Carry out bed tracking tasks as needed.
• Report maintenance or repair needs to management.

Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.

Works directly with patients and/or customers, other healthcare professionals and staff, via telephone or face‑to‑face interaction.
