Appointment Type and Duration: Regular, Ongoing

Salary: $18.06 - $21.91 per hour

FTE: 1.0

Position is open until filled.

Responsibilities

The Autzen Complex Laborer 1 position performs general, routine labor tasks at all Athletic Department facilities, primarily at the Autzen Complex (Casanova, Moshofsky, Pape, PK Park, Autzen and surrounding grounds/sidewalks/parking lots) but may assist in other athletic facilities as needed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Grounds maintenance around the facilities, including pressure washing, weed eating, weeding, blowing, edging, mowing.
  • Assist with maintaining clean building exteriors, including cleaning, weeding, emptying trash from rolling dumpsters and cans around the facilities and parking lots.
  • Conduct minor facility repairs and assist others with medium facility repairs; may be asked to assist with shipping and receiving as needed.
  • Participate in event and practice set‑ups throughout the Autzen Complex for sports such as soccer, softball, baseball, lacrosse, football and for special events.
  • Perform general custodial duties inside and outside the Athletic Complex.
Special Requirements
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain UO Driver's Certification to drive University vehicles.
  • Ability to obtain UO Forklift Certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Willingness to work a flex/irregular work schedule and as a member of the Essential Services Team.
Minimum Requirements
  • One year of documented experience with general routine labor in an organization’s work unit doing similar work.
Professional Competencies
  • Computer skills: ability to communicate via email both sending and receiving.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students with a variety of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn and implement common safety practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
  • Ability to operate and respond to 2‑way radio communication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • More than one year of documented experience in Grounds Maintenance.
  • More than one year of documented experience in Facility Maintenance.
  • More than one year of documented experience in Janitorial Maintenance.
  • Experience setting up, working and tearing down events on a large or small scale.
  • Experience operating a forklift, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, or boom lifts.
