  • Bilingual Pay Benefit:
    This position qualifies for up to an additional 5% of base salary for bilingual pay. Please see “Supplemental Information” at the end of the posting for more information.
  • Non-Represented Retirement Program:
    Upon eligibility, the City will contribute an employee contribution of 6%, as well as the employer contribution, to a retirement program administered by the Oregon Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS). In addition, the City will pay a 3% contribution to a deferred compensation program if the employee contributes at least 1%.
Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise the work of skilled employees engaged in the maintenance, operation modification, and repair of City-owned facilities, buildings, structures, pools, and grounds.
  • Provide highly complex administrative and technical support to the Facilities Operations & Maintenance Manager, Design & Construction Manager, and Facility Management Division Manager.
  • Require someone who possess exceptional customer service and leadership skills.
  • Ensures safety, cleanliness, and working order of buildings, structures, pools, and grounds; may supervise City-wide operations including custodial, security, carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC/electrical and related operations and maintenance activities; may oversee preventative maintenance and repair activities; inspects the work in progress for quality of workmanship and compliance with specifications; prepares inspection reports; works with Facilities Design & Construction on issues involving new construction, renovation, and preservation;

    enforces safety rules and regulations; ensures work is compliant with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
  • Handles emergency situations after work hours by cell and/or laptop for buildings, structures, and pools. Acts as the point of contact with the 911 Emergency Call Center and/or electronic security systems.
  • Evaluates operations and activities of assigned area; recommends improvements and modifications; reviews blueprints, schematics, construction and fire codes, and safety procedures to identify and solve issues and determining the most effective option for completing work; collects data and prepares reports and spreadsheets on operations and activities.
  • Conducts crew safety meetings and inspections; coordinates section activities with those of other sections, divisions, departments, and outside agencies; answers questions and provides information to the public; investigates complaints and recommends corrective action as necessary to resolve complaints; receives, investigates, and responds to all building and facility maintenance emergencies; is responsible for the safety of the public, buildings, and equipment.
