Job Title
Technician I – Management Level
Responsibilities- Clean out and de‑trash vehicle interiors, including ashtrays, consoles, dashboards, door panels, seats, trunks, and engine compartments.
- Remove license plates, stickers, and non‑pertinent writing from windows.
- Disassemble spare tires in the trunk.
- Wash vehicles with high‑pressure washer or automatic car wash equipment.
- Apply chemicals, power‑wash engine compartments, and clean battery terminals.
- Clean doorjambs, sills, interior panels, wheels, tires, hub caps, wheel wells, moldings, bumpers, headlights, taillights, spare tires, exterior panels, trunks, hoods, and interior/exterior windows.
- Detail vehicles by cleaning and dressing trim, molding, weather stripping, instrument panels, steering wheels, and dash moldings.
- Buff vehicles, applying dressings, compounds, cleaners, or polishes, using rotary buffers or hand tools as needed.
- Wax and buff all painted surfaces.
- Vacuum interiors, scrub, shampoo, and spot‑clean carpets and upholstery.
- Straighten seatbelts and clean glove boxes, ensuring warranty booklets, owner’s manuals, and other manufacturer‑issued information are returned.
- Follow safety and health procedures and model Safety Excellence behaviors.
- Support other duties as assigned, including driving vehicles to and from staging areas and on sale days.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Less than 2 years’ experience in a related field; detail shop or buffing experience helpful.
- Valid driver’s license; safe driving record required.
- Ability to operate vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.
- Must be able to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear regularly.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb frequently.
- Medium strength, able to lift 1–30 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and repetitive motion tasks required.
- Vision requirements: close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, electrical shock hazards, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Moderate noise level.
Hourly base pay: $13.70 – $20.53 per hour (rate may vary by location and qualifications). The position may also be eligible for commission and incentive programs.
Sign‑on bonus: $1,000 total ($500 paid after 30 days, $500 after 90 days).
