Position Title: Maintenance & Grounds Student Worker

Reports To: Director of Facilities

Position Summary: Provide a wide variety of general activities to maintain campus facilities and grounds

• Maintain grounds and landscaping in a healthy and attractive condition.
• Remove weeds from flower beds, curbs, around trees, athletic fields, and so forth.
• Apply pesticides and/or chemicals.
• Keep walkways clear and free of hazards, including snow and ice.
• Observe safety standards and practices.
• Assist with the arranging of furniture and equipment for the setup of facilities for events.
• Assist with the organization and maintenance of service rooms and storage areas.
• Assist with inventory.
• Assist in cleaning and sanitation.
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Environment: May require transfer between buildings in outdoor weather conditions. Work may be performed in areas that are not adequately lighted and ventilated. Variations in temperature may be experienced. The noise level is moderate to loud.

Physical Demands: May require climbing of stairs. Requires agility, dexterity, and long periods of walking, standing, bending, carrying, and lifting of supplies and equipment weighing 50 lbs. or more. May wear protective clothing necessitated by work environment or governmental regulations.

Sensory Attention: Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

You and your supervisor will work out a schedule that does not interfere with your classes and athletic practices and games. You are expected to communicate effectively with your supervisor.
