Position Summary
The Broker Assistant is responsible for providing operational support to the brokerage team by efficiently handling day‑to‑day operational tasks. The role contributes to the seamless functioning of daily operations, ensures compliance with regulations, and facilitates effective communication within the brokerage team.
LocationThis role will report full time to our RT Downtown Chicago office (540 W Madison Street, 9th Floor, Chicago, IL 60661).
Job Description- Assist in executing and coordinating day‑to‑day brokerage operations for a large casualty book of business.
- Support the implementation and improvement of operational procedures.
- Coordinate with the broker to prepare documents, cover letters, etc. to market renewal business and provide necessary administrative support in filing, printing, and archiving documents.
- Administer and update new and current client information in all required systems accurately.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of client accounts, transactions, and other relevant documentation, and ensure compliance with record‑keeping regulations.
- Perform customer service functions by answering broker requests and questions by telephone, email, chat or in person.
- Contribute to the preparation of compliance reports related to brokerage operations and collaborate across broker and finance teams on business requirements.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies and assist in the preparation of compliance reports.
- Assist in identifying and mitigating operational risks and collaborate with risk management teams to implement controls.
- Support the brokerage team with any ad‑hoc tasks and requests.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Business Administration, Sales, and Risk Management preferred. Other related disciplines or commensurate work experience considered. - Ability to multi‑task, communicate effectively, and work in a fast‑paced, high‑performing team environment.
- Active Property & Casualty license and/or willingness to obtain within the first 45 days of employment.
- 1+ years of commercial insurance experience; casualty experience a major plus.
The target hourly rate range for this position is $25.00 - $31.25 per hour.
Full‑time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
