Job Summary

The Assistant Dean, Career Management Center (CMC) will lead and oversee all career center services, resources, and staff across Kellogg programs, focusing on supporting students from prospective status through employment. This role leads the Employer Relations, Coaching & Career Education, CMC Project Management & Operations, and CMC Library and Communications functions for full-time and working professional MBA programs, as well as the Masters in Management program.

The incumbent will serve as a strategic thought leader to help achieve Kellogg’s mission of fully supporting career development for approximately 2,900 students. The ideal candidate demonstrates innovation, resilience, and the ability to lead through change, delivering a distinctive experience for students and employers and leveraging change management to optimize services.

This role provides administrative management and coordination for career functions reporting to the Associate Dean of Degree Programs & Operations and represents Kellogg in high-level interactions with internal and external stakeholders. It partners with Marketing, Corporate Partnerships, Student Affairs, Admissions, Financial Aid, Advancement, students, and alumni.

The Assistant Dean must be an energetic, sophisticated leader with analytical and results-oriented mindset, capable of data-driven decision making, and able to lead both conventional and innovative approaches to engage students and employers. The role requires excellent communication, presentation, and executive presence to inspire confidence at the highest levels.

Responsibilities
  • Manage, design and oversee all aspects of the career process including employer relations, coaching, operations, communications and CMC library.
  • Supervise Director-level staff, setting vision and strategy across all programs.
  • Provide strategic direction for a large-scale recruiting function serving full-time employment and internship needs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Kellogg centers and faculty to support student and alumni career outcomes.
  • Be accountable for employment outcomes across degree programs and contribute to program rankings.
  • Lead employer relations and development to expand on- and off-campus recruiting and diversify employer relationships.
  • Lead exploration of scalable educational technology to improve student support.
  • Create a culture of high-performing coaching and employer relations teams.
  • Drive innovation to meet the needs of diverse populations (e.g., international students, first-year students).
  • Lead strategic planning, project planning, budgeting and prioritization for each program.
  • Represent Kellogg in interactions with students, alumni, employers, media, staff, professors and trustees.
  • Assess initiatives and explore opportunities to support program needs and deliver best-in-class experiences.
  • Research best practices in career management and apply findings to strategies and change initiatives.
  • Collaborate with peer leaders at top business schools to share best practices and benchmark services.
  • Uphold Kellogg culture and brand in all work.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of management experience.
