CTD Academic Summer Camp at Northwestern University

In close collaboration with their Program Coordinator, CTD Instructors are responsible for the design and execution of their course, evaluation and documentation of student progress, and the direct supervision of their Teaching Assistant.

• Course and curriculum planning:
  April - May 2026
• Pre‑season training provided in April
• In‑person training scheduled tentatively for Thursday, June 25, 2026
• 3‑Week Instructor: starting at $3,700 per session for new and returning staff
• Session 1:
  June 29 – July 17, 2026
• Session 2:
  July 19 – August 7, 2026
• 1‑Week Instructor: starting at $1,300 per session for new and returning staff
• Session 1A:
  July 29 – July 3, 2026
• Session 1B:
  July 5 – July 10, 2026
• Session 1C:
  July 12 – July 17, 2026
• Session 2A:
  July 19 – July 24, 2026
• Session 2B:
  July 26 – July 31, 2026
• Session 2C:
  August 2 – August 7, 2026

Limited housing is available to instructors who live outside the Chicagoland area.

• Bachelor's degree and teaching experience required; master's degree or equivalent preferred.
• 5 years teaching experience required; 7-10 years teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to adapt content for acceleration; experience with compacted curriculum is a plus.

• Learn, uphold, and implement CTD policies and procedures, including the CTD Honor Code.
• Maintain CTD's standard of active supervision at all times.
• Design all instructional activities and components of the course and prepare a syllabus using a CTD template.
• Create and maintain course website for students within CTD's learning management system.
• Choose and request appropriate instructional materials for the course.
• Review student medical notes and uphold confidentiality policies.
• Science instructors: participate in laboratory safety training if required; prepare and implement safety plans.
• Execute course curriculum with an eye toward individual student progress and achievement.
• Supervise Teaching Assistant's performance and engagement in the classroom.
• Utilize student grading systems and provide feedback on work.
• Contact families regarding student progress as needed.
• Evaluate and assess students according to CTD guidelines and course objectives.
• Assume program‑related responsibilities as reasonably requested by CTD directors and administrators.
