Job Overview
The job of Teacher – Special Education is to provide services to students with identified educational disabilities. Responsibilities include managing a caseload, developing and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEP), adapting curriculum to meet student needs, utilizing current instructional technology and adaptive equipment, co‑teaching in core academic subjects, and participating in a collaborative team approach.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a job‑related area required.
- Illinois Professional Educator License with Stipulations required.
- LBSI endorsement required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students with emotional, behavioral, and academic needs preferred.
- Experience developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
- Knowledgeable about IDEA and the laws that govern working with students with disabilities.
Minimum starting salary with Bachelors degree: $56,920 (includes District paid TRS pension) – pro‑rated to start date.
Minimum Starting Salary With Masters Degree: $62,042 (includes District paid TRS pension) – pro‑rated to start date.
