2nd Grade Educator; SY

The job of an Educator is to support the instructional process by serving as a teacher with responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, professional staff, and administrators to address instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.

• Adapts classroom work to provide students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans.
• Administers developmental testing programs and/or subject‑specific assessments to assess student competency levels and/or develop individual learning plans.
• Advises parents or guardians of student progress to communicate expectations, achievements, and methods for improvement.
• Assesses student progress toward objectives and goals to provide feedback to students, parents, and administration.
• Collaborates with instructional staff, school personnel, parents, and community resources to improve student outcomes and support the school improvement plan.
• Counsels students to improve performance, health status, problem‑solving techniques and personal issues.
• Demonstrates classroom assignment methods to provide an effective program addressing individual student requirements.
• Directs assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and student workers to support the classroom program and student needs.
• Facilitates student learning to achieve success in academic, interpersonal, and daily living skills through a defined lesson plan.
• Instructs students to improve academic, interpersonal, and daily living skills.
• Manages student behavior to provide a safe and optimal learning environment.
• Models conversation, manners, cleanup activities, listening skills, etc. to demonstrate appropriate social and interpersonal behavior.
• Monitors students in various educational environments (classroom, playground, field trips, nap times, etc.) to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
• Organizes age‑appropriate indoor and outdoor activities to promote student participation in learning activities.
• Participates in meetings to convey or gather information necessary for performance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
• Prepares written materials (grades, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) to document student progress and meet mandated requirements.
• Reports incidents (fights, suspected child abuse, substance abuse, etc.) to maintain personal safety of students, uphold a positive learning environment, and comply with Education Code and school policies.
• Responds to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns or direct appropriate personnel.
• Responds to inquiries from teachers, parents, administrators, etc. to resolve issues and provide information.
• Supports classroom teachers in implementing established curriculum and individual student plans.

• Operates copier, computer, standard office equipment, routine desk supplies, classroom materials, and playground equipment to support an effective education program.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Master's degree preferred

• Professional Educators License (PEL)
• Designated Subject Matter Endorsement

• Job related experience is preferred but not required.

Minimum starting salary with Bachelor's degree: $56,920 (includes District‑paid TRS pension) – pro‑rated to start date. Minimum starting salary with Master's degree: $62,042 (includes District‑paid TRS pension) – pro‑rated to start date.
