Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) – Part-Time Evanston, Illinois
ISO Workforce Alliance is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join a supportive school district in Evanston, Illinois. Responsibilities
- Provide direct and consultative vision services to students with visual impairments.
- Develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) aligned with each student's unique needs.
- Conduct functional vision assessments and learning media assessments, as appropriate.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families to ensure student success.
- Teach compensatory skills, assistive technology, orientation to educational materials, Braille instruction (when appropriate), and other expanded core curriculum areas.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance with state and district requirements.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Illinois endorsement/licensure as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI), or eligibility to obtain.
- Experience working with school-aged children with visual impairments preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
