Faculty Position
The Department of Statistics and Data Science at Northwestern University invites applications for a full-time open-rank faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level subject to qualifications. Primary duties include conducting research, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics and data science, advising and mentoring students, and providing service to the department, the college, and the university. A Ph.D. in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
Preferred research areas include machine learning, modern causal inference, and other emerging topics in data science/AI. Exceptional candidates in any area of statistics and data science will be considered. Candidates must demonstrate a sustained record of excellence in research, teaching, and service. Associate Professor: $150,000 - $200,000 Professor: $200,000 - $275,000 This base pay range is for a nine-month academic appointment, does not include summer salary, and is subject to negotiation. Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline;
