KeyQualifications:
- Valid certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Experience creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with significant visual impairments.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with parents, staff, and support services.
- Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Experience with assistive technology and access tools for visually impaired learners is highly desirable.
- Provide direct instruction and tailored support to a single student with significant visual needs, ensuring access to the general curriculum.
- Develop and modify educational materials utilizing braille, large print, or other accessible formats.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to facilitate an inclusive learning experience.
- Serve as an advocate for the student, offering guidance to families regarding accommodations and community resources.
- Maintain documentation and progress reports in accordance with IEP goals and district guidelines.
- Travel as needed between locations to deliver services in an itinerant capacity.
This is a part‑time contract position, Monday through Friday, averaging 20 hours per week. The assignment commences in August and concludes in June, offering compensation of $37-$43 per hour, commensurate with your experience and skill set.
