Description This position is located in Evanston, Illinois. The Clinical Services Coordinator plays a key role in coordinating and supervising all Domestic Violence Counselors and Case Managers, ensuring high-quality counseling and case management services. This role oversees daily operations, supports the development and implementation of department policies and procedures, and strengthens program visibility through outreach and strategic relationship-building with community partners to increase awareness of and access to YWCA Evanston/North Shore’s Domestic Violence Services.
A motivated self-starter, the coordinator provides supervision, counseling, and presentations while driving innovative, best-practice programming that translates vision into action. This role contributes to a comprehensive, trauma-informed support system that fosters a warm and welcoming environment for all survivors and their children.
Essential Functions And ResponsibilitiesClinical Service Coordination and Delivery (30%)
- In collaboration with program leadership and input from direct reports, develop long-term and annual plans that identify growth goals and outcomes to ensure continuous quality improvement in clinical services and client experience.
- Support the enhancement, implementation, and oversight of a full array of clinical services, including voluntary support services for on-site residential clients and community-based clients that conform to trauma-informed best practices.
- Assist in the review and updating of program and client policies and procedures, and related documentation.
- Provide trauma-informed individual and group counseling, case management services, and referrals to survivors in community-based programs and occasionally support clients in residential programming.
- Establish relationships with clients, drawing on motivational interviewing and a client-centered approach.
- Provide conflict resolution when needed and provide parenting feedback as required.
- Educate clients on the impact of trauma and demonstrate techniques to help them learn relaxation, calming, and soothing.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate specialized services and support groups as needed and ensure program activities are developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate and operate through a trauma-informed lens.
- Oversee and implement referrals to appropriate community agencies and services.
- Facilitate programming for clients through partnerships with community agencies and providers.
- Ensure the development and updating of the community service referral guide for staff and clients.
Community Outreach & Training (30%)
- Represent and speak about the services of the organization to community organizations.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with area service providers and community leaders, including schools, healthcare systems, faith-based communities, and Continuum of Care partners.
- Participate in coalitions and committees to form collaborative responses to domestic violence.
- Collaborate with the domestic violence leadership team to develop and implement outreach plans, including training and tabling, to expand domestic violence services within the catchment area.
- With support from department leadership, develop and implement outreach initiatives that increase service usage.
- Participate as a trainer in delivering domestic violence training, including the state-required 40-hour domestic violence training program and other community-based training on domestic violence.
Staff Supervision (20%)
- Develop, motivate, and maintain a high-performing team with strong morale and adherence to high standards of service delivery.
- Develop and support the growth of direct reports, providing supervision and encouraging professional development.
- Hire a diverse staff in accordance with agency policies and procedures and submit timely and accurate hiring paperwork.
- Ensure new hires are onboarded in accordance with agency policies and procedures, including developing, reviewing, and submitting new-hire work plans for those working 20 hours or more per week, and training on agency operations, policies, procedures, and job responsibilities.
