About the RoleThe Lead Advanced Practice Provider is a full-time (40-hour) hybrid role that combines direct patient care with clinical leadership. This position supports and develops a team of physician assistants while collaborating closely with the Medical Director and operations team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Administrative time is allocated based on team size and clinic needs, with clinical expectations adjusted accordingly.
In this role, you will:- Develop and support high-performing Physician Assistants to drive strong patient and organizational outcome
- Provide leadership for Physician Assistants at their specific clinic location
- Collaborate with the Medical Director, Psychiatrists, and Operations to ensure high-quality, evolving mental health care
- Performance coaching to the Physician Assistant team
- Support recruitment and training efforts
- Ensure proper provider onboarding and training in alignment with organizational policies and clinic needs
- Maintain knowledge of facility policies and procedures and work with Operations and HR teams when necessary
- Facilitate clear communication and transparency across departments
- Communicate effectively and consistently with the Medical Director/Supervising Physician
- Master's degree from an accredited physician assistant program
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- DEA license (required prior to seeing patients)
- The ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check
- Subject to credentialing process; must maintain credentialed status, as applicable
- Must maintain certification status
- Must maintain licensure status
- Clinical Expertise - Conducts comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, provides evidence-based medication management, and effectively assesses and manages crises within scope of practice.
- Professional & Ethical Practice - Maintains compliance with licensure, regulatory standards, and organizational policies while delivering culturally responsive, patient-centered care.
- Documentation & Clinical Efficiency - Ensures timely, accurate documentation and effective time management to support quality care and patient access.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration - Works collaboratively with psychiatrists, therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to support coordinated treatment planning.
- Clinical Leadership & Team Development - Provides mentorship, performance coaching, onboarding support, and fosters clear communication and accountability among APP team members.
- Operational Awareness - Supports clinic operations by identifying coverage needs and communicating effectively across departments to maintain continuity of care.
- Base Salary: $115,000-$150,000, commensurate to years of experience (plus bonus earning potential)
