8:00-4:30 Monday-Friday ; may float to Skokie Hospital
** A Brief Overview:
** Under minimal supervision, responsible for leading office personnel in order to ensure high quality patient care, customer service, teamwork, and coordination of care.  Determines work priorities, prepares daily work assignments and monitors compliance for regulatory requirements.  Serves as a consultant for department personnel in resolving operation problems.

* What you will do:

** Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.  This includes knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served and the ability to respond appropriately to those needs.

Assists in overseeing specific office personnel in order to ensure effective, cost efficient business office functionality in accordance with established standards.

Makes work assignments based on departmental need.

Changes assignments appropriately according to office/patient needs.

Oversees workflow to ensure quality and efficiency.

Audits quality of registrations, benefits collection and calls and educates as needed.

Assists in implementation of any new business office initiatives or processes.

Coordinates staff breaks to ensure continuity of patient flow.

Works on projects/reports/statistics as assigned by the Manager.

Serves as consultant for office personnel and aids in resolving questions related to policies, standards, procedures and practices.  Regularly assesses patient satisfaction, investigating and interviewing for immediate complaints or problems.

Ensures completion and follow up of unusual occurrence reports and employee injury reports.

Coaches others to maintain a clean and safe environment.

Reports safety concerns and maintenance issues to supervisor.

Serves as or insures appropriate preceptor support for new employees.  Coaches current employees according to assessed needs/opportunities.  Checks in with staff to address identified goals for feedback and support.  Proves timely feedback to supervisor on performance of personnel.

Participates in scheduling, interviewing, hiring, evaluation and discipline of department personnel.  Provides guidance in resolving difficult employee relations issues.

Immediately addresses any problems, concern or other issues that may arise in the department and informs supervisor.

Develops and maintains cooperative, collegial working relationships with a variety of hospital personnel both at LOH, EHV and Edward in order to gather and exchange information, resolve operational problems and improve services provided.

Participates in quality improvement activities.

Assists with the development of department policies and procedures and sits on appropriate house-wide committees.

Monitors compliance with the Illinois Mental Health Code, Medicare and regulatory agency standards e.g. CLIA, IDPH.  Performs or coordinates assigned audits.  Oversees provision of adequate supplies and equipment to perform daily tasks.  Follow up on repairs/maintenance of equipment as needed.

Experience:

* A minimum of two years of Business Office/Clinic experience
* Previous insurance and managed care experience
* Demonstrates problem solving, conflict management and customer service skills to serve as role model and change agent for corporate and office-based initiatives.
* Intermediate computer knowledge
* Maintains information as highly confidential

Preferred Education, Skills and/or

Experience:

* Crisis line or crisis intervention experience
