IT Support Technician @ Ryan Field

$27.00 to $30.00 hourly

Levy is currently recruiting for an Hourly IT Support Technician in Evanston, IL. This position will provide Tier I technology support including day‑to‑day operations, special projects, and support during sporting and special events.

• Facilitate partner’s success through appropriate use of Levy/Compass Group technology.
• Report to the Director of Operations and collaborate with IT Field Systems, POS vendors, partner IT contacts, and other Levy departments to ensure Levy software and hardware function properly.
• Administer the Point of Sales (POS) platform: create user accounts, configure items, adjust menus, and conduct end‑to‑end testing under guidance from Operations and IT Field Services.
• Diagnose and fix hardware and software issues including POS hardware (terminals, printers, tablets), office equipment (laptops, desktops, printers, servers), and other systems.
• Install and upgrade equipment.
• Provide user support for IT and POS related problems.
• Educate users on new applications and correct device usage.
• Maintain up‑to‑date systems and document issues and solutions in SOPs and KB articles.
• Perform proactive maintenance in collaboration with Levy Operations, Partner IT, and IT Field Systems teams.

• Event‑based scheduling: shifts around events, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical requirements:
  
  extended standing and walking, navigating stairs, ramps, uneven surfaces.
• Noise and crowds: loud, high‑energy environments during events.
• Outdoor exposure: variable weather conditions.
• Lifting up to 40 lb, bending, reaching, working in tight spaces.

• Ability to troubleshoot applications, software, and hardware.
• Understanding of network fundamentals and topologies including Ethernet and wireless technologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with POS systems such as Skytab Venue, Spot On/Shift4, MyVenue, and Square.

• Availability for multiple shifts (weekdays, weeknights, weekends, holidays).
• Positive demeanor and can‑do attitude.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently without close supervision.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Other duties as assigned.
