ASL Interpreter | Evanston, Illinois

A contract opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter specializing in services for students with hearing impairments. This role supports both Extended School Year (ESY) and Regular School Year (RSY) programs in a school setting located in Evanston, IL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Sign Language Interpreting services during the regular school year, delivering up to 330 minutes per day.
• Conduct Hearing Itinerant services consisting of 100 minutes per week of direct support and 180 minutes per month of consultative services.
• Deliver full-day Interpreter services during the ESY period, from June 15, 2026, through July 24, 2026, Monday through Friday, amounting to 1100 minutes per week.
• Provide Hearing Itinerant services during ESY with 100 minutes weekly of direct support and 75 minutes monthly consults.

Qualifications and Desired

Experience:

• Proficient and experienced in Sign Language Interpreting within educational environments.
• Familiarity with the needs of students with hearing impairments and knowledge of interpreter protocols.
• Ability to work independently within a structured schedule.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and educational teams.
