Location: Trulee Evanston
Schedule: 1-2 Days Per Week

- Safely operate and maintain a passenger bus for daily and weekly routes (shopping, medical appointments, community events, etc.).
- Assist residents on and off the bus using the wheelchair lift or steps, including handling oxygen tanks, walkers, and wheelchairs.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections (fuel, fluids, lights, brakes) and coordinate any needed repairs or servicing.
- Keep the bus clean inside and out—vacuum, wipe down surfaces, dispose of trash, and wash exterior as needed.
- Follow all safety and emergency procedures to ensure passenger protection.
- Engage warmly with residents, reporting any concerns about their health or well-being to management.
- Support special events (e.g., bingo) and run errands for the community as requested.
- Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; at least one year of bus-driving experience. Prior work with older adults is a plus. - Communication & Compassion:
Exceptional verbal and written skills, with genuine care for seniors and their families. - Technical
Skills:
Comfortable with large passenger vehicles, wheelchair lifts, and basic vehicle maintenance checks. - Physical Requirements:
Ability to pass a health screening and perform physical tasks like lifting equipment. - Personal Qualities:
Patient, courteous, and calm under pressure; strong integrity and teamwork spirit. - Compliance:
Clean driving record and successful criminal background check (per Title 22 requirements).
