Pay Range
Hourly Pay Range: $36.00 - $55.80. The rate is based on a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights- Sign on bonus: $5,000 for greater than 3 years of experience or $7,500 for greater than 6 years of experience (paid in two installments at 6 and 12 months).
Position: Clinical Nurse Coordinator
Location: Evanston Hospital
& Schedule
- Full‑time, Evening Shift (Monday‑Friday, 3PM – 11:30PM)
- No travel required.
- Act as a Registered Nurse resource to staff, demonstrating excellent clinical skills.
- Coordinate, delegate, communicate, and think critically on clinical and operational issues.
- Facilitate timely placement of admissions and transfers in collaboration with admitting, Bed Coordinator, and/or Supervisor.
- Make patient rounds, monitoring conditions and changes.
- Assist in bed control, contact physicians for early discharge orders, and support timely patient discharges.
- Participate in the Nursing DIG Committee to identify throughput improvement opportunities.
- Ensure adequate unit coverage considering census, acuity, and RN:patient ratio.
- Plan and assign unit duties based on staffing, competency, and shift coverage.
- Delegate tasks to RN and non‑professional staff, providing feedback and counseling as needed.
- Prioritize bed clean‑up, coordinate with housekeeping for stat cleaning.
- Assist in staff evaluation processes, including peer review, goal‑setting, performance improvement, and progressive discipline.
- Orchestrate orientation and ongoing feedback for agency personnel.
- Manage temporary s for PYXIS and coordinate duties during codes.
- Resolve patient care issues, communicating with other departments as required.
- Direct unit activities during internal or external disasters and report significant clinical events.
- Communicate unit status to incoming Clinical Nurse Coordinator and complete shift summary reports.
- Participate in Rapid Response and Stroke Team protocols as a member.
- Graduate of an approved nursing school;
Bachelor of Nursing preferred. - Minimum 2 years of Staff Nurse experience.
- Strong clinical nursing skills, effective communication, teaching and motivational abilities.
- Board certification within 2 years of promotion; preferred specialty certification.
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
- American Heart Association CPR certification preferred.
