The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and supervises the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. The RN is directly responsible for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department, communicating with the physician about changes in patient clinical conditions, diagnostic study results, and symptomatology.
The RN responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. The RN is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and the reporting of child and adult abuse to appropriate agencies and the Hospital Social Worker. The RN maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Basic arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
- EDAP certified facilities:
Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire. - Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate within 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Trauma designated facilities:
Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within 12 months of hire and maintain current;
Non-trauma facilities, TNCC preferred.

Pay TransparencySaint Francis Hospital offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $35.35 to $53.58. The exact starting compensation will be determined when selecting an applicant for hire, considering factors such as skill set, years of experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
